The Ties That Bind

Paul Schwarz It's really staggering what a tight band, who don't limit themselves when stitching together an LP represemtation of what I'd wager is a #hotnheavy live assault, can achieve in today's "studios". First I've heard of this band: what a find! Thank you Wasted State/BB for waving this under my nose while I soaked in _LTA_'s cover... Favorite track: Woe Betide.

cptnhouseplant Telling tales of self reflection and realization Morass of Molasses says what we all know but don't want to hear. Defiantly a table worth turning! www.youtube.com/watch?v=Po6xPCZQBd0

Woe Betide 03:54
Woe betide The Thorn in my side Cast aside More time than I can hide Let it slide Born with too much pride Woe betide The Thorn in my side So cold of hand, a heart so chill So bold you can, can barely feel A light that fades, its warmth repealed The shadow grows, the crack is sealed

My thoughts they seem to Crawl I feel the death of all No longer feel so small I feel the death of all Escaping from the thrall I feel the death of all No longer fear the fall I feel the death of all My eyes have seen it all I feel the death of all I’ve never felt so tall I feel the death of all Escaping from the thrall I feel the death of all I never fear the fall I feel the death of all Wooden man With his reaching hand In a world defined By the Goddess shrine

Estranger 06:24
How little we know We reap what we sow I’d rather die Than live in your lie I Try Tongue, tied I cried Young eyed In comes the tide To wash away pride Poison the seed Spread like a weed

I’m outside, all that is I'm exposed, with no shade Cage of my own design  Solum victim of crime I’m so unsettled within Too confused to begin I’m inside, all I am I'm exposed, with no plan Cage of my own design  Solum victim of crime I’m so unsettled within Too confused to begin

Wove together, was asunder Heat and leather, roll like thunder Writhe in pleasure, feel you under Meet forever, filled with wonder In our sacred skin Bodies turn within Faces burn with sin In our sacred skin

When we are freed from the burden of control We can Embrace the Primal forces of our soul Seek out the Warmest heart, of our forest home The Deepest Roots lie where our love, has come, to roam

about

‘At times like a calorific version of Clutch, at others as heavy as Electric Wizard riding an elephant’ Kerrang

'Nuanced musical choices abound throughout the album... Unusual beats, gentle turns of a phrase, and witchy blues riffs make each song immediate and engaging' Doomed & Stoned

‘An unstoppable force, taking the audience on a journey and able to uplift and perplex in equal measure’ The Sludgelord

‘Keeping you on the edge of your seat, unsure what’s going to happen next. Taking the listener on a musical rollercoaster you’ll want to ride again and again’ The Doom Charts

‘With a firm sense of the earth under them, Morass of Molasses feel like they’re coming into their own here, and one hopes that’s precisely the case.’ The Obelisk

‘The Ties That Band has a huge likeability factor and I can see this album establishing them as one of the most innovative bands within the UK Doom/Stoner Metal scene in the near future’ The Outlaws Of The Sun

‘An absolute must for your ear-holes. For myself, this record has everything I could ask for. Killer hooks, gnarly riffs, tasty grooves, along some gorgeous instrumentals’ The Squealing Hog

‘A tantalising kaleidoscope of textures and imagination as heavy and ravenous as an avalanche, as melodically syrupy as the outcome of the event which inspired the band’s name’ Ring Master Review

'Bowel shattering riffs and fuzzed up bass distorting the lower end. Heavy stoner rock at its most filthy' Musipedia Of Metal

'Plenty of hard riffage and fuzzed up anthems to enjoy. But there’s also a surprisingly large amount of tripped out melodic sprawls' UberRock

'A considerable hard rocking entity, but one that’s also capable of nuance and measure. As such, I heartily recommend that you check this album out' Wonderbox Metal

'Poised to become one of the key players in UK Stoner Doom music. Top drawer' Ave Noctum

‘The perfect mix of melodic numbers alongside Morass of Molasses’ trademark swamp rock sound. Brilliant.’ GBHBL

‘Morass of Molasses could become a significant name in the international heavy rock scene.’ Metal.it

‘An enthralling listen from start to finish. There’s a lot of change of pace and mood so it never gets boring or repetitive. It’s clear the Morass Of Molasses has put a lot of thought and effort in this album. And it really pays off’ - Orange Maze

‘It is masterfully produced and mastered and yet has this fuzziness. It sounds intentional and adds charm to the album.’ The Independent Voice
