about

This song bursts through the tree canopy like a bolt of summer lightening. In essence this song is about how swiftly a relationship can change, and a refusal to allow yourself to be treated without respect; Regardless of how close you were in the past. After the initial bright shock of betrayal, it progresses to deal with swirling the demons of self doubt and blame. This song is equal parts vivid introspection and stark warning to those who would cause more harm.

Musically it represents an introduction to elements not present before. Rhythms and riffs are tightly woven, and have a swagger and fresh complexity. Dynamically it displays a breadth of scope that foretells the whole arc of the album and readies the listener for what it to come. In effect, it pronounces our next stage of evolution as a band.

lyrics

Woe betide
The Thorn in my side
Cast aside
More time than I can hide
Let it slide
Born with too much pride
Woe betide
The Thorn in my side

So cold of hand, a heart so chill
So bold you can, can barely feel

A light that fades, its warmth repealed
The shadow grows, the crack is sealed

about

Morass Of Molasses Reading, UK

Like a thick stew, rich with blues, heavy on entry and mellow in aftertaste.

A recipe born of tradition, with many a familiar ingredient. Chunky, Hearty and satisfying.
